Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Will Not Contain Any Additional Race Tracks, Nintendo Confirms
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will not include any additional race tracks when it releases on the Switch, Nintendo has today confirmed.
Despite previously announcing a rehaul of the title’s battle mode (which includes four new arenas), along with the addition of a few new characters, it had remained tight-lipped over whether or not new racing circuits would be included in the enhanced port.
Today, however, as part of a Japanese live stream broadcast to showcase a number of the hybrid console’s upcoming first-party titles, Nintendo executives (6:10 onwards) confirmed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will feature 48 tracks in total – which is the same number as the Wii U version’s when taking into account the base game and all additional DLC.
That being said, the game does also feature a number of new items – including the return of the double item box from Mario Kart: Double Dash – as well as three new vehicles and the aforementioned additional characters.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is scheduled to release for the Nintendo Switch on April 28.
