Analyst says Nintendo is winding down Wii U development

Nintendo-Direct-New-Wii-U-Games
One of the most disappointing announcements from Nintendo this year came just a few weeks ago, when Eiji Aonuma took to Facebook to inform Zelda fans that the next installment of The Legend of Zelda series that we’ve been anticipating for almost three years now will not be released this year. Aonuma even went so far as to tell fans that the game would not be demo’d at E3 this year, meaning we still won’t have a look at the game despite it being teased as early as 2013.
With that revelation, some analysts are saying that Nintendo has begun to wind down Wii U development in preparation for supporting their next platform, Iwata’s newly announced NX platform. The only detail we know about Nintendo’s next venture is its name, but we know Nintendo isn’t shy about doing cross-platform releases for their biggest games, as Twilight Princess originally launched on the GameCube before making its way to the new system at the time, the Wii.
Stewart Rogers of VentureBeat Insight has some pretty interesting numbers on Wii U exclusives.
While the Wii U has around 380 console exclusive titles, the majority were launched 2013. Fewer exclusives were made available in 2014. In this respect, the Wii U is on the wrong side of the bell curve and Nintendo appear to have been winding it down already.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the last big title for the Wii U that has any sort of release date, as other experimental projects like Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem have only been shown briefly, despite being mentioned way back in 2013 alongside the new Legend of Zelda game. If it turns out to be an NX title, will you be okay with that?
